The Linx NT Series RF transceiver module is designed to send digital data in the 902MHz to 928MHz band over distances of up to 3,000 feet (line of sight). Its True Transparency(TM) interface lets the user create a wireless wire for use with nonstandard data rates, custom protocols or protocols such as PWM and Manchester.
Other so-called transparent modules require a UART interface and buffering scheme. The NT Series offers a transparent data pipe that sends the data presented to it without any alteration or encoding.
UART: An optional integrated packet generator can be used with the module's UART-compatible Command Data Interface (CDI). Data fed into the module is put into a packet and transmitted. The receiving end validates the packet and outputs the received data on its CDI.
Power: The NT Series has very low power consumption. Receiver current is 19.2mA and transmitter current at 0dBm is 15.2mA. Power Down and Standby features can lower power consumption even further, allowing the user to choose between the lowest power consumption or faster turn-on time.
Configuration: The module is configured in hardware through the logic state of its pins. No programmer or programming is required by the designer or the end user. An optional serial interface allows the module to be controlled and configured with an external microcontroller or PC.
Antenna: An integrated antenna connector and hardware pin gives the designer antenna implementation flexibility.
Optimization: The transceiver offers the user four baud bands for optimizing data rate and range for their application. Products with low data rates can be optimized for best range while products that need high data rates can be optimized for data throughput.
Interface: An optional serial interface provides access to advanced features such as software configuration, direct read of the RSSI level, an integrated packetizer and more radio channels.
Channels: Eight radio channels are selected by the logic states of three lines. An optional serial interface allows access to 101 channels.
