The Monnit Wi-Fi Asset Sensor outputs an RF signal at set intervals
to be received by the gateway and monitoring system. The sensor can
be used to determine if an asset is removed from the premesis and
send notifications via SMS text or email from the system to alert
the user. An integrated 802.11 b/g radio transmitter allows the
device to be easily programmed to work with any existing Wi-Fi
network. Monnit Wi-Fi sensors can be easily programmed with Wi-Fi
network security via a low cost USB programming cable, available
here, and the free MoWi Setup Utility for Windows® PC's, keeping the
user's Wi-Fi network secure. User defined transmission intervals
(heartbeats) and sensor threshold settings ensure that sensor data
is received when needed, based on the application. All sensor data
is stored securely in the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring software
and is viewable from any web enabled device. Email and SMS text
messages can be configured through the online system to alert the
user immediately when a defined parameter has been met or exceeded.
- 802.11 b/g (2.412 - 2.484 GHz)
- Up to 250 ft. (Typical to standard Wi-Fi devices)
- Open, WEP, WPA, WPA2 Security Standards
- High gain, RPSMA antenna provides 20-30% increase in range.
- Manage and monitor assets.
- Know when things have been removed from premises.
* Actual range may vary depending on environment.
** Battery life is affected by reporting frequency (heartbeat),
sensor type, Wi-Fi security type, distance from
router and other variables.
In order to program the sensor to connect to your wif-fi network,
you will need a Wi-Fi programming cable and the free MoWi setup
utility. The MoWi setup utility is currently available for Windows®
PC's only. Mac and Linux are not currently supported!
