Summary:

SDMD is PC's HD replacement and it is plug&play as long as the PC has the standard 25 pin IDE connector. Take the old HD out and plug the SDMD and the PC should boot from the SD memory (of course, the SD memory has to have the OS).

Full Description:

SD-Memory Drive I and II are newest and unique SD-IDE adapters by C-Guys and they use C-Guys SD/SDIO host controller CG200. It connects to the PC IDE cable so that an SD memory can be recognized as a main storage device by the system instead of instead of storing data on a hard disk. It is bootable from an SD memory. Significant difference of using SD memory is seen in the system power consumption and mobility. Plus HD is not good for humidity and mechanical shocks/vibs. But SD memory does not have such problems. Conviency, low power consumption, and mobility makes these products ideal parts for ruggedised PCs.

Features

Because of SD the system is excellent in shock, vibration, and other environmental characteristics. This means the system life will be extended much longer.
No mechanical drive is required. This means the system is quiet, cool, light weight and providing longer battery life. The system cost will be lower.
The system can be booted from a SD memory (assuming an OS is in the SD memory)
The data transfer is fast and sustained around 20MB/s, almost the same as a hard disk due to the high speed SD memory controller (ATA/44, U-DMA mode 3).
