[ Mica ] 2.4 GHz / 1.9 dBi / SMD Antenna
Mica is a high performance, though compact, PIFA antenna. It can be placed directly onto a groundplane; no need for empty, groundfree areas that add to your total board size.With Mica, the actual area isolated for the antenna is far less than other types of antennas. You can also use the area underneath the antenna, in middle layers or backside, for traces, vias or even small components. The design creates a very compact antenna solution. Due to Mica’s physical size the radiating properties are excellent, which makes this a very good, high performance antenna. It is especially suitable for mass production since it comes in tape and reel packaging.
